Navotas LGU inks sisterhood agreement with Mabini municipality
Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco led the signing of the sisterhood agreement with the Municipality of Mabini, Batangas, on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in tourism, environmental protection, economic growth, and good governance.
It will also promote tourism through cultural and educational exchanges showcasing Mabini’s marine heritage and Navotas’ urban attractions.
“Navotas and Mabini may look different—one an urban coastal city, the other a haven of marine beauty and tourism. But we share the same dream of progress and protecting our seas,” Mayor Tiangco said.
“Through this sisterhood, we open the door to deeper cooperation, exchanging knowledge on environmental care, disaster preparedness, tourism development, and good governance,” he added.
The agreement also supports small enterprises, local industries, and eco-friendly livelihood initiatives for inclusive economic development for residents of both communities.
Mabini, Batangas Mayor Noel Luistro expressed his gratitude for the agreement.
“This significant covenant is a testament to our commitment to proactive inter-local governance, designed to facilitate the exchange of best practices, technical expertise, and vital resources,” he said in a social media post.
