BDO has partnered with Hope, the organization behind Hope in a Bottle, to launch a new way Filipinos can give back every day with the BDO Hope Mastercard. This special credit card turns everyday spending into support for public school classrooms across the country.
For every ₱1,000 in qualified spend (both principal and supplementary), BDO donates ₱5 to Hope, directly funding the construction of learning spaces for Filipino students who need them most. A portion of the annual membership fee also goes toward Hope’s ongoing education and community development programs.
During the launch event at The Podium Mall in Ortigas Center on December 3, guests in attendance included Teresita Sy-Coson, Nanette Medved-Po, Steven Tan, Karen Davila, Sec. Sonny Angara, Tootsy Angara, Ernie Lopez, Christina Lopez, and Raul Manzano, as well as executives from BDO, Hope, and Mastercard.

“What's so exciting about this is that people can nation-build just by using their credit card, because BDO will support it with donations to build classrooms,” said Nanette, founder and executive chair of Hope. “We've been dreaming about this for so long since earlier this year, and all of a sudden we're able to hold it in our hands.”
Tootsy emphasized that realizing the impact of the collaboration is tantamount to building not just classrooms, but the country’s future. She said: “Nanette really had this great idea of getting everyone involved. When we met with BDO, all we had was a team and a seed of a concept, and now we're sitting here holding our cards and it has come to life. It proves that incredible influence is already coming through.”
Together, BDO and Hope, in partnership with Mastercard, aim to drive meaningful change, sharing a vision of progress one purchase at a time. It is in this spirit that Ma. Nannette R. Regala, senior vice president and head of Consumer Banking Group Marketing at BDO, noted: “Here in BDO, we believe in investing in every Filipino child’s education. Every child deserves a safe and inspiring space to grow and achieve their aspirations. That’s why BDO and Hope are working together to launch the BDO Hope Mastercard, where every spend contributes to building more public classrooms for the Filipino youth. Through this partnership, we look forward to empowering more communities and spreading hope in every spend.”
Cardholders also get to enjoy exclusive perks, including discounts, premium offers, and a low foreign exchange conversion fee of 1.85 percent. On the sustainability front, the BDO Hope Mastercard is made from 100 percent recycled plastic, reflecting Hope’s role as the country’s first net-zero plastic waste brand and further advancing BDO’s broader sustainability commitments.
With a concerted effort from the government, private sector, and goodwill-driven organizations like Hope, more classrooms can be built to support Filipino students. Together, we can all make a difference.
