Aprio ramps up Philippine expansion, launches new Makati hub
Advisory and accounting services firm Aprio has expanded its Philippine footprint with the opening of a second office in Makati City, following the establishment of its flagship site in Clark in 2022.
The firm, recognized as the 24th-largest business advisory and accounting company in the United States (US), currently employs 400 people in the Philippines and aims to grow its workforce to 750 by 2030.
“The reason why we’re investing more into it is that our Philippines presence has grown very much from 2022 [when] we were at 75 employees… [in] 2025, we’re at 400 employees. So we grew quite a bit and that growth came by us introducing Filipinos to all of our practices,” said Aprio’s global solutions delivery leader and partner Dave Kothari in an interview on Thursday, Dec. 4. He noted that the Philippine team was initially tapped only by their tax practice but has since been integrated across all of Aprio’s service lines.
“We find that the skill sets, the education, and sometimes the culture of the Filipinos [are] very versatile, they’re eager to learn and do more,” he added, noting that “we invest in our people in the learning and development area. So that’s how we’ve been able to grow it.”
Kothari explained that Aprio specializes in tax and audit services.
On the advisory side, he said that it offers valuation, transaction diligence, and technology implementation services.
He also said that the firm has a wealth management department catering to high-net-worth clients seeking guidance on asset allocation. He added that Aprio expanded its services by acquiring a US-based law firm, enabling it to provide legal services to its clients.
Kothari stressed that “Aprio Philippines’ rapid expansion, showcased with our new, strategically located office in Makati City, underscores our commitment to both our global clients and our Philippine team. This growth reflects the increasing demand for international talent and for scalable, end-to-end service delivery across Aprio’s global network.”
“By investing in our local office, we are not just expanding capacity, but we are strengthening collaboration and positioning Aprio to lead the next era of global transformation for our clients,” he added.
Kothari emphasized that the Makati office is the 40th office globally supporting 2,800 employees.
He added that the company plans to further expand its Cebu operations, noting it is a “better location for us.” He said, “We have been thinking about as we continue our level of growth... is how we can ensure the safety of our employees [with] a continuity of work” following a series of natural disasters that recently struck the Visayan island.
Kothari explained that the company operates more as a “knowledge-process-offshoring (KPO)” provider than a business-process-offshoring (BPO) firm, noting that its employees handle full lifecycle engagements. He added that “we find that even Cebu might not be the right place, but if you’re doing tasks of an engagement, then Cebu might be a really good location for that.”
