The Las Piñas city government distributed free school supplies to more than 1,500 students with disabilities (PWDs), bringing early Christmas cheers to the learners this Yuletide season.
Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar led the distribution of school bags containing school supplies, an umbrella, a lunch box, alcohol, and a tumbler.
Aguilar, who spent time and bonded with the students, became emotional during the activity after seeing the joy on the faces of the beneficiaries after receiving the Christmas gift packs which they can use once classes resume after the holiday break.
She said the distribution of Christmas school bags aims to assure the PWD community that the city government continues to support their needs, not only during the Christmas season but throughout the year.
The mayor added that the city government remains committed to sustaining various programs for PWDs, including livelihood assistance, health services, and education support, as part of its efforts to promote inclusivity and equal opportunities for all residents.
