DAVAO CITY – The Pulong Pulong ni Pulong (PPP) Movement will host one of its most inclusive and spirited events of the year, the PPP Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Fun Run 2025, on Dec. 13 on Talomo Coastal Road in Bago Aplaya here.
With the theme “Padayon Ta (Let’s Keep Moving Forward)!” Jay Villarica of the first congressional district office of Rep. Paolo Duterte said the event aims to promote active aging, wellness, and community solidarity by providing senior citizens and PWDs a safe, fun, and fully accessible sporting experience.
The fun run features a range of distances and divisions designed to suit varying mobility levels – the Super Seniors 5K run, Super PWD 5K (wheelchair category), Seniors 3K, PWD Able-to-Run 3K, and 2K Assisted PWD/Seniors.
Organizers said that the race starts at 5 a.m., with starting points at Bago Aplaya Park, Talomo Junction, and Talomo Bridge.
Medical teams, ambulances, and wheelchairs will be on standby to guarantee the safety of all participants.
Organizers expect up to 1,000 participants, all of whom will receive complimentary registration, singlets, meals, souvenirs, and race bibs with timing chips for official results.
Runners are required to present a medical certificate and obtain a doctor’s consent before joining the run.
Families and supporters are encouraged to cheer on participants, while non-runners can take part in a photo contest and reel-making contest to capture the most inspiring moments of the day.
A prominent feature of the event visuals is the message urging the return of former President Rodrigo Duterte – “Bring Rody, a true Dabawenyo, home!”
Villarica said this reflects the community’s ongoing support for former President Duterte, a central figure in the Davao identity and in the PPP movement led by Rep. Paolo Duterte.
