San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora proudly unveiled the city's 32-foot traditional-styled Christmas tree erected at the San Juan City Hall grounds on Wednesday, Dec. 3, ushering in the Yuletide season in the city.
Zamora, together with his family and officials of the city government, led the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree built with a 3D base accentuated with Ilokandia-inspired elements, including Inabel and Abaca Christmas balls, handmade burlap flowers, and capiz parols.
The tree was also illuminated by 35,000 bulbs, showcasing a radiant and culturally rooted holiday display.
"This year’s Christmas décor highlights a distinctly Filipino theme. Capiz parols will further illuminate the City Hall entrance and interiors, while the exterior façade of the building will be outlined with special LED lights that follow its architectural lines, creating a festive and vibrant nighttime display," Zamora said.
Aside from the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, a fireworks display was also held marking the opening of the Makabagong San Juan Christmas Bazaar offering a variety of food, gift items, and local products for residents and visitors alike.
