Living up to the tradition of the provincial government of advocating love for the environment, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) has joined the rest of the 14 localities in Rizal Province in unveiling its version of the giant recycled Christmas tree.
Rizal PPO director, Col. Feloteo A. Gonzalgo led the unveiling of the 15-foot tall Christmas tree inside the Camp MGen. Licerio Geronimo in Taytay, Rizal on Dec. 2.
Witness to the lighting of the holiday tree that was created by police men and women of the Rizal PPO using recyclable materials was Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares.
Dozens of used plastic bottles formed part of the flower designs while bunches of coconut husks were used in making the body of the giant tree.

Col. Gonzalgo, during the lighting ceremony attended by chiefs of police of the 14 police stations in the province, presented and explained to Gov. Ynares how the Rizal PPO's version of the Ynares Eco System (YES) Christmas tree was conceptualized and created by the men and women in uniform as part of their active involvement in the pro-environment policies and advocacies of the Ynares administration.
Aside from the holiday tree, each of the 14 police stations and offices in the provincial headquarters also presented their respective Christmas lanterns that also showcased the cops' ingenuity and craftsmanship in creating the Christmas decoration out of recycled materials.
Aside from water bottles, dried leaves, grasses, and water hyacinths, and dried branches of trees were used to create the native-inspired parols.

PPO's chief information officer, Capt. Mariesol Tactaquin said the camp's Christmas display this year is inspired by fhe Pahiyas Festival in Quezon and the pro ecological programs of the PPO and the provincial government.
Gov. Ynares thanked the police officials and personnel for taking part in the provincial government's pro-environment initiatives.
