The city government of Pasay marked its 162nd founding anniversary with a showcase of colors and community spirit as hundreds of residents gathered along the streets for the annual and much-awaited “Parade of Lights and Street Dance Competition” on Monday, Dec. 1.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led the celebration, which featured illuminated floats and performers in glowing costumes who marched along major thoroughfares, delighting families who lined the streets to witness the spectacle.
Rubiano said that after the parade, competing groups from different schools took center stage in the street dance competition, which aims to strengthen youth engagement, promote creativity, and foster camaraderie among communities.
According to the mayor, winners of both the float and dance categories received cash prizes and trophies in recognition of their outstanding performances.
For the street dance competition, Pasay City North High School secured third place, receiving P50,000 and a trophy; Pasay City East High School took second place with P75,000 and a trophy; while Pasay City West High School emerged as the grand winner, earning P100,000 and a trophy.
In the Parade of Lights float competition, Star City won first place with a P30,000 cash prize; Jollibee Food Store placed second with P20,000; and SM Mall of Asia took third place with P10,000.
