During the song's launch in Quezon City on Dec. 1, Janah said she was honored to have been chosen to interpret a song with a powerful message. The anti-corruption song was composed by Ricky Rivera of Artikulo Onse Band.
"It's a cry for help to God and to the people. Para magkaisa tayong lahat na sana maparusahan ang dapat parusahan and to give justice to the Filipinos na lumalaban ng patas. (So that we can all unite, punish those who deserve it, and provide justice to Filipinos fighting fairly)," said the 23-year-old singer.
Janah mentioned that her parents initially approved the song before she recorded it.
"I like the song, but it was my parents who first heard it. Then pinarinig nila sa akin at nagustuhan ko naman. (Then they let me listen to it, and I liked it)," she said.
Janah added, "I may be blessed as a Filipino citizen pero ramdam ko talaga ang hirap ng mga Pilipino. (I may be blessed as a Filipino citizen, but I really feel the hardship of Filipinos.) I am privileged to stay awake, stay woke, and remain aware of our society. Through music, I hope to inspire more people, not just my generation, but generations all over the world."
The young singer said she really loves performing pop songs. "However, singing this kind of song is something new to me. Medyo nahirapan ako sa song na ito because it's emotional. I hope I did justice to the music, which is merong galit. Kasi galit tayong lahat sa mga nangyayari. (The song was challenging because it's emotional. I hope I did justice to the music, which is there's anger. Because we're all angry about what's happening.)"
Janah believes the country has so many resources and people who will help us. "Pero kanino napupunta? (But to whom does it go?) So, hopefully, someday, that help will go to the right people."
Given the chance, Janah said she would love to sing another song similar to the anti-corruption song.
"I am open to new things, not just in singing, but also in other opportunities. Kung ano man ang dumating na opportunities na swak sa prinsipyo ko, gagawin ko. (Whatever opportunities come up that fit my principles, I will do it)," she said.
Janah has been in the music industry since 2018, when she joined under Ivory Records. In 2022, she became a recording artist for Star Music.
