CLIA Pouso Alegre and Rio Brasil Terminal officers lead the inauguration of the new and expanded logistics and industrial center.
The Brazilian business unit of Razon-led International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), CLIA Pouso Alegre, has completed the expansion of its logistics and industrial center.
ICTSI said the expansion strengthens the connection between Port of Rio de Janeiro and Southern Minas Gerais, a region known for its diverse industrial base and growing demand for integrated logistics solutions.
The newly expanded facility now offers 30,000 square meters (sqm) of bonded area, 2,000 sqm of ANVISA (Brazilian health regulatory agency)-certified refrigerated storage, and a container depot.
With increased capacity and more efficient operations, companies in the region can take advantage of new opportunities to lower their logistics cost and improve both import and export lead times.
The inauguration of the facility paves the way for the launch of the Rio-Minas corridor, a logistics route designed to enhance integration, efficiency, and competitiveness across the region.
This multimodal solution strongly supports Southern Minas, offering proximity, cost reduction, and greater operational stability to position Rio Brasil Terminal (RBT) as a competitive and reliable alternative to other ports suffering from congestion.
This center is part of RBT’s and CLIA Pouso Alegre’s commitment to operational safety, environmental responsibility, and technical excellence. Both companies seek to deliver enhanced connectivity, agility, and opportunities for importers and exporters in the region.
CLIA Pouso Alegre is a customs-bonded logistics hub in southeastern Brazil, strategically located in Minas Gerais near the country’s main airports and seaports.
Operated by the ICTSI Group, the facility anchors the multimodal Rio-Minas corridor through its direct connection to RBT at Port of Rio de Janeiro, creating a seamless link between local industries and global markets.
