High-value drug suspect yields P1-M shabu in Pasig buy-bust
A 22-year-old man, listed as a newly identified high-value individual (HVI), was arrested for possession of P1,020,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Pasig City, authorities said on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
The Eastern Police District (EPD) identified the suspect as “Lester.” He was arrested in an operation conducted by the Pasig City Police Station in Barangay Pinagbuhatan at around 3:05 a.m. on Nov. 30.
Recovered from him were 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 150 grams, fake money used as buy-bust money, and a black belt bag containing additional drug-related evidence.
He is now detained at the Pasig City Custodial Facility and will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
With the operation, EPD District Director Brig. Gen. Aden T. Lagradante emphasized the importance of continuous and intensified efforts against drug trafficking.
“Every operation that stops the circulation of illegal drugs is a step toward protecting our communities. We will remain relentless in pursuing those who endanger public safety through these illicit activities,” he said.
The EPD described the operation as a major breakthrough that underscores its uncompromising resolve to dismantle illicit drug networks that threaten community safety and fuel criminality in Metro Manila.
