The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said that the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco is currently monitoring the developments in a mass shooting in Stockton, California.
DFA spokesperson Angelica Escalona said on Tuesday, Dec. 2, that there has been no information so far on the nationalities of the deceased and injured.
“Only the ages of the deceased has been made public (8, 9, 14, and 21). One is a student of Stockton Unified School District. No other details are being released as the incident is still under active investigation,” she shared.
“We are closely monitoring this and will provide updates as they become available,” the official assured.
According to media reports, at least four people, including three children, have been killed in a shooting at a children’s birthday party in California over the weekend.
Eleven others were injured and one is in critical condition after the incident in a local restaurant in Stockton.
No suspect has been arrested, and authorities believe that the “targeted” shooting may have been committed by multiple people.
Authorities have been asking anyone with information or video footage of the shooting to come forward as investigations begin on the shooting incident.
