Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers disband

The Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers are disbanding from the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the team announced on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the closing of the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers’ chapter after 11 unforgettable years in professional volleyball,” the team said in a statement.
“From our beginnings as the Foton Tornadoes to our journey as the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers, we celebrate the milestones: the championships, the talent we developed, and representing the Philippines on the biggest stage,” it added.
Chery Tiggo joined the PVL in 2020 during the league’s inaugural professional season and immediately made waves by capturing the 2021 Open Conference championship at the expense of Creamline.
However, the team struggled to sustain that momentum in the following years, eventually settling for runner-up honors in the 2024-25 PVL On Tour.
In the recently concluded Reinforced Conference, the EV Crossovers finished 10th among 12 teams with two wins against six losses, failing to advance to the knockout quarterfinals.
“The legacy of resilience, teamwork, and the spirit of the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers will endure. We are profoundly grateful for every moment,” the statement said.
With the disbandment, Chery Tiggo’s players -- including Ara Galang, Aby Maraño, Cess Robles, Jasmine Nabor, and Mylene Paat, among others -- are now officially free agents.
