7 Filipino firms land on Fortune Asia's elite '100 Best Companies to Work'
A Filipino-owned Vietnamese company and six Philippine firms were named to the inaugural Fortune Asia 100 Best Companies to Work For in Southeast Asia list, with two subsidiaries of the Gokongwei Group making the cut.
Jollibee Foods Corp.’s Highlands Coffee ranked ninth on the list, according to Fortune Magazine. The six Philippine companies were: Balibago Waterworks System (24), Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (35), Universal Robina Corp. (44), Megaworld Corp. (90), and business services firms Infinit-O (93) and PeoplePartners (96).
The magazine noted that the list highlights organizations that excel in performance and create outstanding workplaces. Built on the Great Place to Work model, the list recognizes companies where employees “trust their employers, take pride in what they do, and enjoy their colleagues.”
Trust Index scores among the Fortune 100 ranged from 80 percent to 92 percent, reporting consistently positive workplace experiences, above the regional average of 67 percent. The list compiled data from 1.3 million employees across more than 450 companies in the region.
Meanwhile, Megaworld Corp. noted it was the only Philippine real estate company on the list, recognized for its workplace culture.
The company attributed the achievement to its “stellar performance rating” in its certification as a Great Place to Work, where it received a 94 percent approval rating from its employees.
Megaworld’s hospitality arm, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, was also recognized for achieving one of the highest satisfaction ratings in its category regionally.
“To be named among Southeast Asia’s best companies to work for is a proud testament to our commitment to business excellence and to our continuing pursuit of nurturing our people towards greater success,” Megaworld President and CEO Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso said in a statement. “We believe that success is best achieved when people are enabled to thrive and lead with purpose.”
Earlier this year, the company was named to the inaugural Time Magazine’s Best Companies in Asia-Pacific. It was also named the top-ranking real estate company in the Philippines' Best Employers 2026 list by Statista.
To foster future leadership, Megaworld recently launched the High-Rise program, a specialized development initiative for promising young leaders across the organization. The first batch of participants graduated from the management program "just a few days ago," according to the company.
