BAGUIO CITY – The holiday season here kicked off with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and 17th Saint Louis University lantern parade on Session Road to Harrison Road on Monday, Dec. 1.
This year’s iconic Christmas tree at the Session Road Rotunda is made from organic and natural materials, particularly bamboo, that show this city's commitment to sustainability.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong thanked departments and stakeholders who joined hands to make the Christmas tree a reality. He also thanked Saint Louis University for partnering to hold the lantern parade.
A fireworks display by SM City Baguio capped the twin events.
The lantern parade with the theme “Illuminating Culture: A Radiant Celebration of Global Celebration” is part of the university’s 116th founding anniversary.
