The city government of Pasay announced that Dec. 2 will be a special non-working holiday in the city in celebration of the 162nd Pasay Day.
Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the declaration of a special non-working holiday in the city will give residents a chance to participate in various activities and programs prepared by the city government.

Rubiano said the celebration kicked off with “Padyak Pasay: Pedal Forward” on Nov. 22 at SM By the Bay, SM Mall of Asia, which was attended by hundreds of bike enthusiasts.
She said the lighting of the giant peacock-themed Christmas tree and the illumination of the City Hall façade were held on Nov. 29 as part of the Pasay Day celebration and marking the official start of the Yuletide season.
The mayor said a total of 324 children and senior citizens from various barangays in the city received gift packs.
Rubiano said the Pasay Employment Services Office (PESO), in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), conducted a one-stop-shop job fair on Dec. 1, to be followed by the much-awaited “Parade of Lights and Street Dance” competition.
She said the PESO job fair held at the Pasay City Astrodome offered jobs to 7,000 job applicants and was participated in by 46 local and overseas employers.
