P1.1 million shabu seized in buy-bust operation in Taguig
The Taguig police seized P1.1 million worth of shabu and arrested two men in a buy-bust operation on Dec. 1.
The operation was conducted by the Taguig police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit in South Union Drive, Arca South in Barangay Western Bicutan.
Arrested during the operation were high-value individuals identified as alias Christian, 23, and alias Alex, 26, both residents of Barangay South Signal Village, Taguig.
The police recovered 164.3 grams of shabu worth P1.1 million, P500 bill used as buy-bust money, and five P1,000 bills used as boodle money.
The police will file a complaint against the two suspects for violation of Sections 5 (sale), Section 26 (attempt or conspiracy), and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) under Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) before the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office.
Col. Byron Allatog, Taguig police chief, commended police officers for the operation aimed at disrupting drug supply networks in Taguig.
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, acting district director of the Southern Police District, said, "The successful apprehension of two high-value drug targets and the seizure of over P1.1 million worth of shabu underscores the relentless commitment of the Taguig Police and the entire SPD to combat the illegal drug trade."
