Motorcycle rider killed after hitting utility van in Rizal

A 30-year-old female motorcycle rider died after crashing into a utility van along Payatas Road in Mayon Avenue, Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal, last Friday, Nov. 28.

According to the Rodriguez Municipal Police, the victim attempted to evade a boulder in her lane, causing her to lose balance and hit the utility van cruising on the opposite side of the road head-on.

The impact caused the rider's body to go underneath the van. Rescuers rushed the victim to the hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the 48-year-old van driver was placed under police custody and is currently facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
