LPA near PAR has 'medium' chance of strengthening into tropical depression — PAGASA

A low-pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a medium chance of intensifying into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, Dec. 1.
In its weather update, the state weather bureau said the weather disturbance, tagged as LPA 12A, remains outside PAR but continues to show signs of possible intensification.
“LPA 12a is being monitored outside PAR also has a 'MEDIUM' potential of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours,” it stated.
As of 2 p.m., the LPA was located 1,445 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.
Meanwhile, PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm “Koto” is being monitored outside PAR and poses no direct effect on the country.
