The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is intensifying labor inspections this December to safeguard workers and ensure compliance in establishments with increased holiday activity.
DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said the inspections will focus on complaints, post-disaster safety checks, and technical inspections.
He added that high-risk establishments, industries with expected holiday surges, and advisory visits for micro enterprises will also be prioritized under the department’s intensified monitoring.
Industries expected to experience heightened holiday activity—including manufacturing, construction, telecommunications, pyrotechnics, and public transportation—will undergo stricter inspections to prevent accidents and enforce labor standards.
Labor Advisory No. 14, Series of 2025, emphasizes that DOLE will continue monitoring compliance with correction orders, conducting mandatory conferences, and following up on previous inspections.
The advisory also underscores enforcement of compliance measures in accordance with Department Order No. 238, Series of 2023, to ensure establishments adhere to labor standards.
High-risk establishments, as defined under Department Order No. 252, Series of 2025, will receive special attention due to potential workplace hazards.
Meanwhile, technical and advisory visits will help micro enterprises meet required safety and labor compliance standards.
