1 Pinoy affected by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka —DFA

A Filipino has been displaced by the heavy rainfall and landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwah in Bangladesh, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

The affected Filipino has received medical attention and has been assisted by the Honorary Consulate General, according to DFA.

"As of 30 November 2025, one Filipino in Negombo City is confirmed to have been displaced because of the floods," the DFA said in a statement.

"She is now getting medical attention at a local hospital, and being assisted by the Honorary Consulate General," it added.

The department further said that through the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh and the Honorary Consulate General in Sri Lanka, they are closely monitoring the situation of Filipinos in light of the heavy rainfall and landslides due to Cyclone Ditwah.

"The Embassy continues to coordinate with Sri Lankan authorities and stands ready to provide assistance to any Filipino who may have been affected by the calamity," the Foreign Affairs department said.

It also encouraged Filipinos needing assistance to get in touch with the Honorary Consulate General in Sri Lanka through telephone number (+94) 114322267/8 or email [email protected].

As of 2025, there are 711 Filipinos in Sri Lanka, DFA said.
