VP Sara: Let Bonifacio's sacrifices inspire us to fight for justice, equality

On Bonifacio Day, Vice President Sara Duterte encouraged Filipinos to let the sacrifices of Andres Bonifacio inspire them to fight for justice and equality.

Duterte, through a video message on the 162nd birth anniversary of Bonifacio on Nov. 30, Sunday, honored the courage of Bonifacio as she urged the citizenry to commemorate his heroism.

"Gawin nating inspirasyon ang kanyang sakripisyo upang ipaglaban ang katarungan, pagkakapantay-pantay, at magandang kinabukasan ng Pilipinas (Let his sacrifices inspire us to fight for justice, equality, and a better future for the Philippines)," Duterte said.

"Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas—para sa Diyos, sa Bayan, at sa bawat Pamilyang Pilipino (Let us love the Philippines—for God, for the Nation, and for every Filipino family)," Duterte added.

The Vice President also called on the people to keep the spirit of patriotism and unity alive.

"Kasama ang buong bayan, gunitain natin ang kanyang kabayanihan, at buhayin ang diwa ng patriotismo at pagkakaisa sa puso ng bawat Pilipino (Together with the entire nation, let us commemorate his heroism and keep alive the spirit of patriotism and unity in the heart of every Filipino)," she said.
