Several groups held a protest along Recto Avenue in Manila on the morning of Sunday, Nov. 30, denouncing corruption and calling for the resignation of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.
The protesters intended to march toward Mendiola and Malacañang, but they were stopped in front of the University of the East by police, as rallies are not allowed near Malacañang.
Authorities also blocked part of the Ayala Bridge in Manila with barricades ahead of Sunday. This area is notable for the previous clash between police and civilians during the Sept. 21 rally.
All roads leading to Malacañang were also blocked to prevent the protesters from reaching the palace.
Access to Mendiola and nearby areas was further restricted with concrete barriers, barbed wire, and container vans along Recto Avenue, Legarda, and other routes.
Police and firefighters were on standby to maintain order and ensure the safety of motorists and residents.
