Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led a wreath-laying ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 30, to mark the 162nd birth anniversary of Gat Andres Bonifacio, honoring the hero’s sacrifices for the country’s freedom and unity.

According to the city government, the commemoration highlighted Bonifacio’s role as the founder of the Katipunan and a leading figure of the Philippine Revolution against Spanish rule.
It added that the annual observance serves as a reminder of the courage, patriotism, and unity demonstrated by Bonifacio and fellow revolutionaries.
The ceremony formed part of nationwide Bonifacio Day activities, which include flag-raising rites, historical lectures, and tributes at monuments and heritage sites across the country.
The event was attended by City Administrator Michael Victor Alimurung, Assistant City Administrator for Operations Alberto Kimpo, Councilor Cocoy Medina, District Action Officers Ollie Belmonte, and Attorney Mark Aldave.
National Historical Commission of the Philippines representative Janice Manipon, city department heads, and barangay officials also graced the event.
