Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso has finally achieved his childhood dream of having a Boy Scout uniform at the age of 51, proving that dreams really do come true to those who wait.
Domagoso's wife, Dynee, posted a photo of the mayor wearing a Master Scout uniform given to him as a gift following the courtesy call of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines at the City Hall on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Awww Papa. Tupad pangarap ka at 51 (My husband is so excited about his Boy Scout uniform! After the courtesy call with the Boy Scouts of the PH, he quickly showed me the Master Scout uniform that was gifted to him... Awww Papa. You've made your dream come true at 51)," Dynee said.
According to Domagoso, having his own Boy Scout uniform had been a dream for him for the longest time as his family could not afford it due to poverty.
Hindi ko ito nakuha nung bata ako, pero ibinigay pa rin ng Diyos ngayong 51 years old na ako (I've only been able to wear this uniform now, because back then we couldn't afford it. I just looked at it and drooled at my classmates wearing this. I didn't get it when I was a kid, but God still gave it to me now that I'm 51 years old)," he explained.
Scout tayo—laging handa, laging may pag-asa (So remember: There is no end to dreams. God always has a way as long as we know how to trust, dream, and act to achieve it. Don't give up—just keep fighting. Maybe tomorrow, what you've been praying for will be in front of you. Let's be scouts—always ready, always hopeful)," he added.
