Police arrested 70 wanted persons in the Cagayan Valley region from Nov. 20 to 26.
Four were most wanted persons and 66 were other wanted individuals.
“These consecutive arrests highlight our strengthened campaign on manhunt operations,” Police Brig. Gen. Antonio P. Marallag Jr., Police Regional Office-2 chief, said.
Marallag added that 19 suspected drug pushers were arrested and 34.4 grams of shabu and 20 grams of marijuana were seized; four firearms were recovered and five individuals were caught for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act;
Twenty persons were nabbed for illegal gambling, and six individuals were apprehended for illegal logging and recovered from them were 279 board feet of sawn lumber valued at approximately P35,000.
Four New People’s Army rebels in the region voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
Marallag said these accomplishments were achieved through intensified intelligence efforts, strengthened inter-unit coordination, and active public cooperation.
