The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as "Dabi," 31. He was arrested at around 12:39 a.m. along Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque.
The 34-year-old victim stated that the suspect confronted him for allegedly spreading rumors that the suspect was involved in a theft, which led to a heated argument during which the suspect threatened him with a firearm.
The victim, fearing for his life, immediately reported the incident to the Tambo Police Sub-Station, which led to the arrest of Dabi.
Police recovered a .38 caliber firearm with ammunition from the suspect during his arrest.
The suspect is now detained at the Parañaque City Police custodial facility and charged with grave threat and violation of RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Authorities will also coordinate with the National Capital Region-Regional Civil Security Unit to verify whether the suspect holds a valid License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and to check if any registered firearms are on record.
