Man arrested for carrying improvised firearm in Muntinlupa

Muntinlupa police arrested a 38-year-old man for carrying an improvised firearm and ammunition on Nov. 29.

The suspect was identified by his surname Pepito, a resident of Purok 1 in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa.

He was arrested at about 3: 15 a.m. in Carzo Compound in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

Officers from the Alabang Police Sub-station received a radio report from the duty desk officer regarding a complaint from a resident, who claimed that a man was seen roaming around Carzo Compound while carrying a gun, causing fear among residents.

The police went to the area and arrested the suspect. Recovered from him were an improvised firearm and two pieces of live ammunition.

The recovered items were submitted for firearm identification and ballistic examination.
