The Caloocan City government awarded cash incentives to 26 young athletes who won medals at the Batang Pinoy 2025 national sports meet, recognizing their achievements on the national stage.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan personally congratulated the medalists during the awarding ceremony, praising them for bringing honor to the city.
According to the city’s Public Information Office, Batang Pinoy is an annual multi-sport competition for athletes aged 15 and below, including out-of-school youth and participants from marginalized communities, aimed at providing young talents with an opportunity to compete and develop their skills.
The medalists received the city’s standard incentives of P10,000 for gold, P7,000 for silver, and P5,000 for bronze medalists, along with additional cash support from Mayor Malapitan.
You didn’t just bring home personal honors—you carried the pride of the entire city with every victory),” he said.
The mayor also assured the athletes that the city government will continue to support sports development programs that give young Caloocanons more opportunities to train and showcase their talents.
You can count on the full support of the city government under our administration, not only in sports but in all programs that provide opportunities for Batang Kankaloo to hone their talents),” Malapitan said.
