PHINMA Community Housing (CoHo), the low-income housing segment of PHINMA Corp., expects to commercially launch its first project units in the first half of next year.
The firm recently broke ground on the site in Tugbok District, Davao City. CoHo aims to provide 500 affordable homes for underserved low-income families, addressing the country's estimated 6.5 million housing backlog.
The company invested an initial ₱250 million for the project with each of the planned 500 units to be sold at ₱850,000 each for a total project value of ₱425 million.
PHINMA CoHo President and Chief Executive Officer Luis M. Oquiñena said the goal is to fulfill housing aspirations by providing “safe, secure spaces where they can make their dreams come true and become part of a supportive, dignified community.”
CoHo seeks to offer a sustainable solution that transitions minimum-wage earners from rental housing to homeownership.
The project integrates shelter into a workers’ community that includes amenities such as a community-based enterprise, a daycare facility, and skills training for residents seeking additional income sources.
