Malacañang said the government is ready for the upcoming anti-corruption rally on Nov. 30.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro made an assurance that the government, particularly the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Philippine National Police (PNP).
Castro said the government is always ready to maintain peace and order during rallies, considering that the Nov. 30 rally will be the third big protest in Metro Manila since September.
She added that the PNP as of Friday, Nov. 28, was in full alert.
"Lagi namang handa ang DILG, ang PNP at sinabi nga po nila na itong November, itong araw na ‘to, November 28 ay full alert na po (The DILG and the PNP are always prepared, and they have said that starting this November, today, November 28, they will be on full alert)," Castro said.
"Ipi-place na po ang NCRPO on full alert para po magkaroon ng maximum police presence at tamang deployment. 15,097 police personnel po ang idi-deploy para dito po sa rally na ‘to (The NCRPO will be placed on full alert to ensure maximum police presence and proper deployment. A total of 15,097 police personnel will be deployed for this rally)," Castro added.
While the Palace official said there will be no changes in the security preparations enforced in Malacañang, she did not confirm whether there will also be another lockdown within the compound.
"Sa ngayon po, wala po tayong maibibigay na anumang impormasyon sa ngayon dahil wala po akong update kung ano po ang magiging estado dito (At the moment, we cannot provide any information because I have no updates on what the current status will be)," she said.
