Woman dies after being hit, run over by trailer truck in Malabon

A 26-year-old woman died after she was hit and run over by a speeding trailer truck in Barangay Catmon, Malabon City, on Monday, Nov. 25.
The Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) identified the driver as “Rodolfo,” 56, a resident of J.P. Rizal Street, Tondo, Manila. He was arrested at the scene.
Police said the victim, identified as “Alaiza,” a resident of Sitio 6 in Catmon, was walking along Gov. Pascual Avenue at around 6:15 p.m. when the truck struck her and ran over her.
Responders from the Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office brought the victim to the Tondo Medical Center, where she was declared dead on arrival due to severe injuries.
Police have impounded the truck’s tractor head and its empty trailer as part of the investigation.
Appropriate charges are now being prepared against the driver.
