Van falls off EDSA flyover; driver missing

A closed van fell off the EDSA Santolan Flyover in Quezon City, early Thursday, Nov. 27.

The vehicle was navigating the flyover at around 3:00 a.m. when it suddenly crashed into a light post. Due to the impact, the van fell off the flyover and landed on its side.

The force of the fall crushed the vehicle’s front end and scattered debris across the area.

No pedestrians or motorists were hurt in the incident.

Personnel from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) arrived shortly after and worked to remove the vehicle.

The crash left broken glass and spilled oil, which caused traffic in the area.

The van was cleared around 6:00 a.m.

Police later discovered that the driver had left the scene before authorities arrived.

The recovered van has been turned over to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Traffic Sector 3 as investigators work to determine the cause of the incident and to track down the driver.
