Operatives from the Marikina City Police Station arrested a convenience store manager for allegedly raping an 18-year-old female employee who met him to discuss her plans to resign from work.

Authorities said the suspect, identified as “Melvin,” was apprehended on Nov. 24 pursuant to a court warrant.

He was listed as the No. 5 most wanted person at the station level for the 4th quarter of 2025. No bail was recommended for his rape case that occurred on April 21.

Based on the investigation, the incident happened on April 21 at a hotel in Barangay Marikina Heights, Marikina City, after the victim informed the suspect about her plans to resign.

The suspect allegedly suggested a meeting at a hotel to discuss her resignation, and the victim agreed.

However, when they reached the hotel, the victim reportedly sensed the suspect had bad intentions, prompting her to try to leave the room, but the man allegedly stopped her and covered her mouth.

She was then told not to scream or make noise under threat of harm, after which the alleged rape reportedly occurred.

Authorities said the victim may have felt comfortable around the suspect, her manager, and trusted him enough to share her work concerns, which he allegedly took advantage of.

The suspect is now detained at the Marikina City Police Station Custodial Facility.
