Veteran sportswriters Nelson Beltran of the Philippine Star, Rey Bancod of Daily Tribune, Ding Marcelo and Dodo Catacutan of SPIN.ph, and Jun Engracia of the Inquirer make up the five-man team competing under the four-to-play, four-to-count format.
Non-playing team captain is Manila Bulletin sports editor Ramon Bonilla.
The JHH-JHG Sportswriters team, backed by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) headed by chairman Patrick Gregorio, John Hay Golf, and John Hay Hotels with LGR Sportswear and MacBeth as apparel sponsors, is competing in the Fil Division in the Fil-Am Invitational’s 75th year.
Luisita, led by Abe Rosal, is the overwhelming favorite to repeat as Fil-Championship Seniors Division champion of the tournament that has lured more than 1,400 amateur golfers to the country’s summer hideaway for the next fortnight.
