The Quezon City government declared on Thursday, Nov. 27, that 14 lechon stores in La Loma are now free of African Swine Fever (ASF) virus, following intensive sanitation and compliance efforts.
After issuing a temporary closure order to these establishments on November 13, they conducted daily disinfection for a week in collaboration with the City Veterinary Department and QC Health Department),” it said in a statement.
Aside from disinfection, the establishments were required to fully comply with sanitary, safety, and health protocols to prevent future contamination.
As of now, three establishments have been granted a LIFTING ORDER to reopen after passing the regulations of the City Health Department and the City Veterinary Department)," it added.
The Quezon City government assured that it will continue assisting the remaining businesses to help them complete the compliance process.
The local government will continue to assist entrepreneurs to ensure that all of them follow protocols and maintain the quality of products coming from La Loma),” it added.
