Police arrest hostage-taker in Quezon

TIAONG, Quezon – A 44-year-old man was arrested after taking a woman and her two daughters hostage in Barangay Quipot here on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Police identified the suspect as Felix.
Investigation said the suspect sought to reconcile with his former live-in partner but was rejected.
A furious Felix, armed with a knife and a gun, seized the victims – Veronica, 45; Crystal, Grade 5 pupil, and Krizbel, junior high school student.
Police negotiated with Felix who demanded a tricycle to escape. Lawmen provided the suspect with the vehicle and blocked his path as he was about to make a getaway.
Felix was apprehended and the victims were taken to a hospital for checkup.
Quezon police director Police Col. Romulo Albacea commended lawmen for their efforts in diffusing the situation.
The suspect faces filed appropriate charges.
