Megaworld taps Accor to rebrand 1,530-room hotel to world's biggest Mövenpick
Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality arm of developer Megaworld Corp., has signed an agreement with global hospitality group Accor to convert its 1,530-room Grand Westside Hotel into the Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside, making it the world’s largest Mövenpick hotel.
In a statement on Thursday, Nov. 27, Megaworld said he conversion, which covers brand alignment, systems integration, and operational enhancements, is slated for completion next year, paving the way for the hotel’s opening before the end of 2026.
The deal is the second collaboration between the two groups, following the rebranding of Belmont Hotel Mactan to Mercure Mactan Cebu.
“The opening of the world’s largest Mövenpick is a powerful testament to our group’s efforts to scale our world-class offerings and meet the demands of the broader international market,” said Cleofe Albiso, Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts.
She added that the partnership reflects a shared belief that the Philippines is poised to stand as a distinct global destination, contributing to job creation and stronger tourism activity.

The 19-story, two-tower Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside is located within Megaworld’s 31-hectare Westside City township in Parañaque City’s Entertainment City. A dedicated sky bridge will connect the hotel directly to the expansive Westside City integrated casino and entertainment complex, as well as the country’s first Grand Opera House and other performance venues.
Accor’s global network and the reach of its loyalty program, ALL Accor, are expected to amplify the hotel’s international visibility and drive stronger guest traffic, boosting overall tourism.
“Our partnership with Megaworld represents an important step in strengthening Accor’s footprint in the Philippines, a market that continues to demonstrate strong momentum in both international and domestic travel,” said Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer for Accor’s Premium, Midscale, and Economy Division in Asia. He noted that Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside will serve as a flagship for the premium portfolio.
Andrew Langdon, Accor Chief Development Officer for Asia, echoed this confidence. “Our partnership with Megaworld for Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside underscores our confidence in the Philippines as a rapidly expanding market for high-quality, experience-driven hospitality,” Langdon said, citing increasing visitor arrivals and a growing domestic travel sector.
