The Fire and Rescue Exercises (FIREX) activity, which is in its third year, was participated in by the Las Piñas Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), BFP, Philippine National Police (PNP), and Barangay DRRM teams.
During the activity, the speed, tactics, and proper coordination of unified responding agencies during emergencies were tested.
Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar said such training is invaluable, as it provides responders with an opportunity to hone their skills, improve communication, and strengthen teamwork in high-pressure situations.
She also said that innovations in their protocols and coordination are proof of their commitment to making custodial facilities and communities safer, more effective, and more prepared in the face of any disaster.
The mayor added that FIREX is another step in continuously building a culture of preparedness in Las Piñas, where the safety of every resident is a top priority.
