Amid being named as one of the top 10 most complained national government agencies by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) assured that it is committed to address public concerns and deliver vital services to Filipinos.
“Everyday, the hard working men and women of the Department, including its frontliners, strive to deliver the best possible service to our kababayans within the bounds of available resources,” the DFA said in a statement on Thursday, Nov. 27.
“In line with its commitment to public service, the DFA also remains resolute in addressing public concerns. The DFA takes pride in its track record of being among the top government agencies with a high complaint resolution rate,” it stressed.
According to the DFA, it delivers an average of five million frontline consular services annually at its Office of Consular Affairs in Manila, across 42 Consular Offices nationwide, and 98 Foreign Service Posts
“As an agency that delivers frontline services, the DFA acknowledges receipt of client concerns through its effective feedback mechanism,” it said.
The ARTA report placed the DFA eighth among the top 10 national government agencies that Filipinos have most complained about.
It follows the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), the Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA), the Land Registration Authority (LRA), the Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR), and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) placed ninth and tenth, respectively.
