Seoul-based Korea Real Estate Investment and Trust (KOREIT) Asset Management is set to invest in a ₱5.1 billion premium golf estate in New Clark City, poised to boost tourism and generate over 1,000 jobs, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) said.
In a statement, the BCDA said it has sealed the ₱5.1-billion investment from KOREIT Asset Management and Sky Blue New Clark City Golf and Resort Corp. for a golf development in its New Clark City property in Capas, Tarlac.
The state-run firm will build a premium golf course and residential villa estate spanning 150 hectares (ha).
Around 77 ha of the estate covers an 18-hole championship golf course and clubhouse, which are targeted to begin operations in the first quarter of next year.
A total of 52 ha will be allocated for a nine-hole extension and supporting facilities, with the remaining areas for residential villas and related amenities.
KOREIT, through its local subsidiaries Eagle-K GC Corp. and Eagle-K RV Corp., will develop and manage the project.
Joshua Bingcang, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of BCDA, said the company’s commitment to invest in New Clark City reflects investor confidence in the property’s long-term development plan.
“This strengthens our investment pipeline and supports our goal of building competitive, sustainable growth centers,” he said.
Bingcang said the ₱5.1-billion investment will generate significant economic activity in Tarlac and nearby areas.
In terms of job generation, the project is expected to create 1,200 direct and indirect jobs.
It is also projected to attract both domestic and international visitors to New Clark City, positioning the planned metropolis as a sports and lifestyle destination.
New Clark City currently houses the 20,000-seater Athletics Stadium, the World Aquatics-approved Aquatics Center, a 10-lane competition pool, an eight-lane training pool, and a diving pool.
The site is also home to the 525-unit Athletes' Village, which provides accommodations for participating and training athletes.
