TACLOBAN CITY — The Police Regional Office-8 arrested six most wanted individuals and 16 other wanted persons in Eastern Visayas from Nov. 26 to 27.
Among those apprehended were Surigao del Sur’s most wanted.
The suspect Boy, 48, of Lianga, Surigao del Sur, faces murder, attempted murder, arson, robbery, grave coercion, grave threats, and child abuse. Some of his cases are non-bailable.
The Leyte police arrested seven, Southern Leyte police, three; Samar police, two; Tacloban City police, two; and Northern Samar and Biliran, one each.
Police Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy, PRO-8 director, said that the successful operations demonstrate their firm resolve to enforce the law and ensure the safety of people.
Meanwhile, a farmer was hit and killed by a cargo van on Thursday in Barangay Dao, San Jose, Northern Samar.
Police said the victim, Jerry, 38, had just alighted from his tricycle to purchase gasoline when he was hit by the van traveling towards Allen town, Northern Samar, driven by Pajing, 43.
The victim was taken to the Northern Samar Provincial Hospital (NSPH) where he was declared dead.

He and the vehicle are under the custody of the San Jose MPS for further investigation and filing of appropriate charges.
