Ombudsman opens doors to lawyers, engineers, accountants
The Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) welcomes applications from lawyers, engineers, and accountants for various positions.
Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano said that for the past 40 days, the OMB has received 200 applications.
He said the applicants are mostly new lawyers and new graduates, with most of them top notchers and honor students.
The office is thrilled with the new applications as they are exactly “what we need,” he also said.
"Binubuksan po natin ang pinto ng Ombudsman para sa magagaling na abogado, engineer, at accountant. Kung may makita tayong may skills for investigation, bukas po ang ating pinto at gusto natin maraming nag-a-apply, (We are opening the door of the Ombudsman to talented lawyers, engineers, and accountants. If we see someone with skills for investigation, our door is open and we want many people to apply)," he added.
Earlier, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla had disclosed that there were 204 suspected "midnight appointees" in his office, who were hired right before his predecessor stepped down from office.
He said it was very suspicious how they were "hired last minute," and they hold "very high positions in the government."
Remulla had issued a memorandum asking them to tender their courtesy resignations and re-apply again as a show of good faith.
