Man yields P408K shabu, firearm in Parañaque

A man was arrested after authorities seized shabu worth P408,000 and a firearm during an anti-illegal drug operation in Parañaque City on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as "Jayson," 39. He was arrested by the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit at around 10:55 p.m. along Vietnam Street in Barangay San Dionisio.

Recovered from the suspect were 60 grams of shabu, along with a .45-caliber pistol with its magazine and ammunition.

He is now detained at the Parañaque City Police custodial facility and faces charges for violations of Sections 5 and II of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

“I applaud our operating team for their dedication and professionalism. Each successful operation like this strengthens our efforts to build safer and more secure communities. The Southern Police District remains resolute in pursuing criminal elements and ensuring public safety,” SPD Director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo said.
