President Marcos has vowed to improve government processes aimed at promoting and accelerating renewable energy projects.
Marcos made the commitment during his visit at the Ning*Ning 6.55 megawatt project in Pasinaya Homes Prime Central in Naic, Cavite on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
"On our end as the government, we will continue improving our processes so we can promote, and support, and accelerate more innovative renewable energy projects just like this," Marcos said in his speech during his visit at the Pasinaya Homes.
Marcos described the NING*NING Solar Rooftop Power Facility as a monumental initiative towards the country's energy transition.
He added that the Solaris and Raemulan Lands "have done something quite remarkable," for adopting renewable technology innovations for almost 2,000 homes in Naic.
He further said that it was the first-ever grid-connected and utility-scale solar project in the world that can be found in a housing community.
The President emphasized the multiple benefits the project provides to the community, stressing that the solar rooftop power facility reduces more than six thousand metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
"Para tayong nag-alis ng halos isang libong sasakyan sa ating mga kalsada. Kaya’t mas makakatulong tayo sa ating kalikasan (It’s like removing almost one thousand vehicles from our roads. This way, we can contribute more to protecting our environment)," Marcos said.
According to Marcos, the project has already won Gold for ESG Integration Excellence and Silver for Sustainable Renewable Energy Initiative of the Year for the Asian Power Awards 2025.
"You have managed to bring Filipino innovation to the world stage and for that – that is a very, very, very important step for the Philippines and for that matter, the solutions that we are trying to find," he said.

We must be creative in shifting to renewables

The President underscored that the Philippines must "be creative and be able to find different solutions," stressing that "we cannot continue to do the same things that we did before."
Marcos said that the solar rooftop power facility at the Pasinaya Homes is a "prime example" of that creativity and innovation that 'brings technologies together in an imaginative and innovative way and to the advantage to the residents here, to the power generation in our count – to our shift from fossil fuels to renewables."
He lauded the Solaris and Raemulan Lands for the project, saying it is a "much-searched-for win-win solution."
"Because this is how we move forward with efforts that both benefit our environment and our people. I believe that this community in Naic is just the beginning," he said, adding that he is truly excited by what the NING*NING Project shows about what the future can be.
"Imagine what we can do if we replicate this sort of effort in neighboring communities and, later on, the rest of the country," he added.
In order to realize this, Marcos said the help of every community, family, and Filipino is needed.
He also urged Solaris, Raemulan Lands, Joy-Nostalg Foundation, and other partners to continue working together, breaking new ground.
"Indeed, our collaboration demonstrates what can be achieved when the government, the private sector, and communities work together to create sustainable solutions," Marcos said.
The project has a capacity of 6.554 MWp and uses the rooftops of 1,986 Filipino households, each with six solar photovoltaic panels, totaling 11,916 panels. The electricity is converted to match the grid, transmitted and distributed by MERALCO, and is continuously monitored to ensure safe and reliable power delivery.
The system has a net export capacity of 4.95 megawatts alternating current (MWac), generating approximately 9,182 megawatt-hours (MWh) annually — enough to power more than 7,900 homes.
The initiative supports the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Green Energy Auction Program (GEA-4), the Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) and the Sustainable Finance Framework, which incentivize long-term renewable energy supply contracts to foster cleaner, greener and more resilient communities nationwide.
