Digital pioneer Donald Lim elected MAP president

Digital transformation expert Donald L. Lim, the president of DITO CME Holdings, was elected the 78th president of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) for 2026, positioning the prominent business group to prioritize digital innovation and future-ready leadership.
The election of Dr. Lim, one of the country's most respected leaders in digital transformation, was announced in a statement on Tuesday, Nov. 25, which also named the full lineup of the MAP 2026 Board of Governors.
Lim is expected to take his post when his term begins in 2026. The association noted that Lim has been a pioneering force in shaping the Philippines’ digital economy by advancing national initiatives on artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, cybersecurity, and ethical digital governance.
Lim is currently the president of DITO CME, an investment company with interests in telecommunications, media, and technology.
The MAP added that his extensive leadership experience across diverse sectors continues to inform his advocacy for innovation-driven competitiveness and inclusive growth.
His contributions to national development have been recognized through prestigious honors, such as the TOYM Award for Community Building in Digital Media and the Agora Award for Marketing Communications.
Prior to his election, Lim founded the Blockchain Council of the Philippines, the Cybersecurity Council of the Philippines, and the Global AI Council Philippines. These organizations bring together government, industry, and academe to champion responsible innovation and digital trust. His work, the MAP said, has helped position the Philippines as an emerging hub for technology adoption, digital governance, and future-ready leadership.
A respected educator and author, Lim has taught at leading universities and written several books, including Cybersecurity Unmasked, Blockchain Unlocked, and the upcoming AI Unleashed. This underscores his long-standing commitment to building a digitally empowered and ethically anchored nation, the association noted. He also serves in the Philippine Air Force Reserve Command as a Group Commander with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Joining Lim on the MAP 2026 Board of Governors are key figures from various sectors. Marianne Hontiveros, Managing Director of CEO Advisors, Inc., was elected Vice President, while SGV & Company Chair Wilson Tan was named Treasurer. The board also includes AC Health President and CEO Paolo Borromeo as Assistant Treasurer and GT Capital Holdings Independent Director Gil Genio as Secretary.
The other members of the MAP 2026 Board are former DILG Secretary Rafael Alunan III, Vice Chair of Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines; former DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista, Chair of SKAL Makati International; Maria Theresa Marcial, President and CEO of BPI Asset Management and Trust Corp.; and Atty. Michael Toledo, Director of Government and Public Affairs of Metro Pacific Investments Corp.
