SMAC Prestige now requires ₱200,000 to keep status
SM Retail Inc. is tightening the spending requirements for its highest-tier loyalty program, SMAC Prestige.
The minimum cumulative expenditure for both qualification and renewal of the exclusive SMAC Prestige status will be standardized and raised to a single threshold, effective Jan. 1, 2026, according to a notice posted on the SMAC website.
Under the new policy, the spending requirement to unlock a new Prestige membership will jump 33.3 percent to ₱200,000 from the current ₱150,000 spent within a 12-month period across The SM Store and affiliated SM retail chains.
The most significant revision impacts existing members: the automatic renewal threshold will see a sharp 66.7 percent increase from ₱120,000 to the new ₱200,000 benchmark.
However, the policy change includes a transition period for current customers. Spending accumulated before Dec. 31, 2025, will still count toward the lower ₱150,000 threshold.
Crucially, the new ₱200,000 renewal requirement will only apply to succeeding renewals once a member’s card expires in 2026 or later, allowing those with early 2026 expiry dates to maintain their membership under the existing ₱120,000 rule for one more cycle.
