The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) turned over three Toyota Hilux police patrol vehicles to the City Government of Manila on Monday, Nov. 24, to boost the mobility and operational capacity of the Manila Police District (MPD).
The turnover ceremony was held during the flag raising ceremony at the Kartilya ng Katipunan, beside Manila City Hall, with Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso leading city officials in accepting the donation from FFCCCII officials led by its president Victor Lim.
The new patrol units will be deployed as mobile vehicles for MPD stations, enhancing police visibility, rapid response, and citywide crime prevention efforts.
During the ceremony, MPD Director Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad expressed his gratitude to Domagoso for the city’s unwavering support for Manila’s police force.
“Sa ating butihing punong lungsod, maraming maraming salamat sa patuloy na suporta sa buong kapulisan ng Maynila, hindi lamang sa aming mga pangangailangang pangkasanayan at kagamitan, kundi lalo na sa pangangalagang ipinagkakaloob ninyo sa amin (To our honorable city mayor, thank you very much for your continued support for the entire Manila police force, not only for our training and equipment needs, but especially for the care and protection you consistently provide us),” Abad said in his message.
He added that Manila is fortunate to have a mayor who consistently provides care and support without hesitation and at any hour of the day.
Domagoso, in turn, thanked the MPD for being a steadfast partner of the city government in maintaining order, safety, and peace across Manila.
“To General Abad, congratulations. To the men and women, uniformed personnel of the Manila Police District, our crime efficiency rate grows to 9.2 percent in crime solution through the leadership of Gen. Abad at ng mga opisyales ng MPD. Ikinalulugod ko ito dahil alam n’yo naman ang minimum na nais kong ibigay sa taumbayan: ang Maynila ay maging maaliwalas at panatag (and the officers of the MPD. I am pleased with this because you know the minimum standard I want to give the public: that Manila should be orderly and peaceful),” Domagoso said.
