Team Philippines set for TGR Asia eSports GT Championship in Thailand

Toyota Motor Philippines has confirmed three of the country’s top sim racers as its representatives to the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Asia eSports GT Championship 2025, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. Victor Ancheta, Enzo Ison, and Matthew Ang will race as Team Philippines against some of the strongest sim racing talents in the region.
The regional finals will take place live at the Toyota Alive Space in Bangkok. Filipino fans will be able to follow the action through a livestream on Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines’ Facebook page and YouTube channel on November 23, with coverage scheduled to start at 6:00 PM local time.
All three drivers earned their slots after a strong showing in the TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship 2025, which ran from September to October and drew more than 250 participants. The national series has become a key platform for Filipino sim racers who want to measure themselves against a deep field of competitors, and it continues to serve as the main selection ground for Team Philippines in the Asia-level event.
Leading the squad is 25-year-old Baguio City resident, Victor Ancheta, this year’s TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship 2025 overall champion. Ancheta entered the series as a relative newcomer but quickly proved he could run with more seasoned names. He placed third in the qualifiers, then fifth in both the quarterfinals and semifinals. He put together three consistent races during the national finals, allowing him to secure the top spot in the overall standings. His performance in the domestic series has now earned him a first call to the Asian stage as part of Team Philippines.
Joining him is 15-year-old Lubao, Pampanga native Enzo Ison, the youngest member of Team Philippines. Despite his age, Ison brings some of the strongest experience in the field. He was the Junior Class Champion in 2022 and 2023, then progressed to become the overall second placer in 2024. He already has Asia Finals experience, which should be valuable in the pressure of a regional championship. In the 2025 national campaign, Ison topped the local qualifiers and quarterfinals, placed third in the semifinals, and finished second overall in the national finals to secure his return to Asia-level competition.
Rounding out the team is 23-year-old Makati City resident Matthew Ang. A previous Asia Finals participant, Ang comes into this year’s event with additional experience and a clear goal of challenging the rivals he has already faced on the regional stage. He was the Promotional Class second placer in 2022 and overall third placer in 2023. For the 2025 season, he was consistently near the front of the field, placing second in the qualifiers, quarterfinals, and semifinals, before closing out the national finals in third overall. His steady results have again placed him among the country’s representatives for the Asia championship.
