Expected to lead the charge for Spain are Patricia Gonzalez Mota, more popularly known as Peque, the Best Female Player of the World awardee in the 2022 Futsal Awards in 2022, and Irene Samper, who helped the La Roja to three European futsal titles.

The Thais enter the tournament fresh from their runner-up finish in the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup last May in China behind champions Japan.

The opening match features marquee players who are expected to dazzle the crowd, too.

For Colombia, there’s Nicole Mancilla, futsal’s reigning Best Women’s Young Player who emerged as the top scorer in this year’s Copa America.

Esther Brossard, who was leading markswoman and MVP in the Concacaf qualifying tournament, is tipped to spearhead the Canadians.

The world’s best and brightest are in the Philippines in town to engage in an exciting battle for the honors of being the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women’s World champions.
